Filters

Filter by almost anything in a recipe.

Cookidoo gives you a short list of filters. Mofood gives you the rest. Filter by every tag in the catalogue, like cuisine, diet, meal and equipment. Put a floor and a ceiling on sixteen numbers, from time and rating to calories and protein. Then name the ingredients a recipe should have, and the ones it shouldn't.

Save the set you use most and every search starts from it.

What Cookidoo leaves out

Cookidoo has a large catalogue and a simple search. You can filter by a few things like time, category and rating. It doesn't know what's in your kitchen, so it can't tell you what you're able to cook, or which recipe would use up the most of what you already have.

Searching by ingredient is limited too. You can exclude one at a time, but you can't say which ingredients a recipe should have and which it shouldn't. And the ready-made lists are Cookidoo's picks. You can't build and keep your own.

What Mofood adds

Your kitchen match on every recipe

Each recipe card shows how many of its ingredients you have, how many to double-check, and how many you're missing. Sort by how close a recipe is to ready and start with the one you can cook now.

Add your ingredients once

Search for an ingredient and mark it as owned. No amounts, no units. You can also add ingredients straight from a recipe while you're looking at it.

Cook things before they go off

Add an expiry date to a pantry item and Mofood flags it when the date is close. It can suggest the date from an item's usual shelf life, or work it out from the day you bought it. One of the sort options brings the recipes that use those ingredients to the top.

Make the missing ingredient

When a recipe needs something like stock paste or a spice blend, Mofood links a recipe that makes it. A missing ingredient isn't always a trip to the shop.

Build your own lists

Save a set of recipes by hand, or save a search. A saved search stays up to date on its own, so it still makes sense after your kitchen changes. The lists are yours.

Mofood and Cookidoo

Mofood doesn't replace Cookidoo. The recipes and the cooking steps still come from there. Mofood adds the part that pays attention to your kitchen.

Roadmap

What's next

Planned, not built yet.

  1. More of the catalogue in English: recipes in other languages, plus automatic translation for the ones that were never published in English.

  2. Recipes from beyond the official Cookidoo catalogue: ones made for Thermomix by other people, and everyday recipes converted to work with it.

  3. Nutrition targets you set once, for the nutrients you care about, with recipe data that goes past macros into vitamins and minerals.

  4. A profile for each person in the house, so a search can find meals that suit everyone at the table.

  5. Meal planning that ranks recipes by the nutrition gaps you still have for the week, counting what you've already planned or eaten.

  6. Nutrition tracking that shows where the week runs short, nutrient by nutrient, and what stays low over time.

  7. Shopping lists that merge repeated ingredients into one line with a total, and meal plans you can share or reuse.
